Annual Tree Lighting

Annual Tree Lighting to be the Event of the Season

For years now the Village of Rochester Hills has hosted the annual tree lighting and arrival of Old St. Nick. This year is the 10th time we have hosted this event, and we decided we needed to kick it up a notch!
We started out by asking ourselves the following questions:
  •
Who comes to the event?
  • Why do they want to come to the event?
  • What do they like about all the past years?
  • What can we do to improve the event?
We realized that the event has brought back some of the same people year after year; so we are doing something right! After all, we take our community events very seriously. We enjoy being a "downtown" for Rochester Hills, and we enjoy providing memories and fun for the community. While it's clearly important to keep all of the bells and whistles you expect ... this year we want to take the cake!
We will begin the evening at 7pm with a special Christmas "mini" parade down Main Street.  Santa Claus will be the guest of honor in the parade.  We are talking the real deal here ...you cannot let your children miss Santa at the Village.  Corrin Barnett will sing songs from her Christmas CD, Jay Towers from WNIC will be a guest MC, Mayor Bryan Barnett will speak, and a child from the Rainbow Connection will get to turn on all 500,000 lights, including the 5,000 lights on the Village tree.  But that is not the end....
Radio Disney will continue the fun at the stage with a family game show ... or you can join the line to spend some time with Santa.  Radio Disney is providing other activities for the children, including a fun photo op with the Muppets.  One family will win a trip to FAO Schwartz in NYC to build their very own muppet.  And that's not all ...
Our stores and restaurants will be on hand all evening with free samples and special deals just for you and your family.  The Meadowbrook Carolers will be performing for us, as will Jen Kincer and her students.
This will be the event of the season ... the event to kick off the holidays ... the event to photograph for your Christmas cards ... the event to which to invite neighbors and family ... the event your children will never let you miss after this year.  So mark your calendar and plan to be at the Village of Rochester Hills on NOVEMBER 18th from 7 - 9pm.
